| Principle | The dirty water is fed to the inlet of the lamella separator and flows downwards in it. Due to the arrangement of the lamellar plates in the inclined separator, the dirty water is deflected below the lamellae and flows upwards through the lamellae. Thus, the solids sink down onto the slats. The cleaned water is transported to the outlet. The solids on the slats gradually slide down along the slat plates. This is where the mud funnel is located. |

| Application | Separation of solids and liquids by sedimentation. Inclined separators are often used as a preliminary stage before filter presses or decanters for thickening.
